Stay home on Black Friday; Buy Alternative Gifts

 Black Friday is NOT the best day for holiday gift deals. As a follow up to the Nov. 10 post reporting the study by the Wall Street Journal, NPR this evening confirmed with another authority that Friday does not offer the best prices. It's appalling that so many retailers open on Thanksgiving Day when low paid employees (often with few or no benefits) are forced to work when they could be home with the families. It's long past time to take a more sustainable approach to holiday gift giving.
