An Argument for Claiming Social Security Retirement Early

Much has been written in the past couple of years about the benefits of waiting as late as possible to claim Social Security retirement benefits because each year of delay provides an 8% return. Of course, this advice applies to people who expect to live longer than average. Yet, there are valid arguments for claiming early in order to delay tapping tax-preferred retirement accounts.
