Deceitful Conduct by Student Loan Companies

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has sued several student loan companies for what it calls "deceitful conduct." The CFPB says some of the companies promised to help consumers reduce interest rates and enhance credit scores, and it accuses some of charging fees before any revisions were made to the loans.

So it's not just irresponsible or naive borrowers who created the student loan debt problem.
